MRO Planner/Scheduler is responsible for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) parts supply purchasing and inventory used to maintain and repair equipment and facilities to prevent disruption of the company activities. Plan and arrange part purchasing and inventory for equipment maintenance activities to cost effectively maximize equipment uptime. Review and assign work orders, maintaining CMMS.
Basic Functions:
CMMS/Parts Inventory:
- Oversee organized, identifiable, and accessible physical inventory of equipment and facility parts and supplies.
- Oversee CMMS system of perpetual inventory for purchase orders, received parts, and issued parts.
- Issue Purchase Orders and place orders for spot buys on non-inventory maintenance purchases.
- Receive and record part and supply shipments with BOL and invoice verification on non-inventory maintenance purchases.
- Manage plant and equipment parts and supply inventory to optimize stock levels.
- Manage parts and supply vendors and costs.
- Maintain inventory counts, values, and records.
- Monitor inventory reports and any variance between physical and management system inventory.
- Coordinate and participate in physical inventory.
- Manage spare parts to ensure availability.
- Upload new equipment information to CMMS to create new assets.
- Organize and secure equipment maintenance records for regulatory compliance.
- Update equipment data in CMMS to ensure accuracy of installed assets.
- Perform other tasks which may not be reoccurring.
Maintenance Planning:
- Analyze breakdown analysis reports to identify and eliminate gaps in preventative maintenance program.
- Coordinate and rebuild spare equipment through external suppliers.
- Schedule and coordinate contractors when needed.
- Collect drawings, manuals, and other documents to assist contractor and maintenance repairs or modifications.
- Submit engineering drawings for any further required revisions or upgrades.
- Analyze maintenance key equipment to ensure minimum level of spare parts and accurate reorder quantities used in CMMS system in coordination with Maintenance Supervisor.
- Procurement of parts required for each work order.
- Plant shutdown planning to ensure parts are available on time.
General Functions:
- Work hands-on with Maintenance Technicians to understand equipment and functionality of Silva equipment and parts in Asset BOM.
- Obtain equipment or parts quotes from Vendors.
- Lead initiatives to reduce maintenance operational expenses.
- Utilize CMMS functionality (i.e., Asset Tree and BOM) to standardize maintenance parts purchases.
- Analyze historical costs against monthly purchases and provide monthly reports to Maintenance Management.
- Create Maintenance work orders as needed.
- Review and Assign work orders, with safety items being addressed first and identify proper permits required (Hot Work, Confined Space, Safe Work Permit, etc.).
- Gather and organize information pertaining to PSM (Process Safety Management) work orders.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate all activities to be completed during plant shutdowns.
- Ensure VMI relationships are achieving cost savings.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 55 lbs. with single person lift
- Climbing (ladders, stairs, etc.)
- Operating production and support equipment (production lines, forklifts, scissor lift, power tools)
- Bending and stooping
- Extended periods of being on your feet
Qualifications Required:
- 3-5 years inventory control experience
- Experience with Maintenance Management Software
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing
- Excellent interpersonal skills – team player who demonstrates professionalism.
- Hard worker who is a self-starter and proactive
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have impeccable organizational skills and be detailed oriented.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Specialized courses or certificates in maintenance repairs, planning, preventative and predictive maintenance.
This is a full-time, salary exempt position (base pay range = $65,000-$80,000/year; job offer to be commensurate with candidate experience) with benefits package that includes paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k retirement plan with employer match, employee assistance program, employer gift-matching program, wellness program, and company-paid holidays.
